White Rose and Jessie Coppermen
Passion Heart and Andrew Martin
Immortal Flight and Hadley Grayson
Daddy’s Overdraft
and Alex Shade
Hadley trotted out onto the turf track of Green Horse fields atop a large bay stallion, followed by Andrew on a pure black filly, Jessie on a large bay filly, and Alex on a small, yet mighty grey filly.
The three horses may have looked like just any ordinary thoroughbreds on the track for a morning workout to the untrained eye, but anyone who hung around Green Horse Fields and The Wire they would recognize at least one or two of the quartet.
The bay large bay stallion was recognizable by his confident and intelligent traits. He may have not made that much noise around the track, but he did have a notable pedigree. Immortal Flight was a horse that had only two wins in his four year old season, however he was a single win away from achieving G2 status.
The bay filly was sweet and large, laid back but she could really run when she wanted to. White Rose had two wins under Grayson Meadows’ guide, a strong second place finish and two not-so-showey finishes out of the money. However, the filly may not be recognizable yet, but she soon would be. One day in the near future Rose would be recognizable by her large size and massive heart, Rose had grit, and it showed.
The third horse, a pure black filly with nothing but a star on her forehead. Ally was known as the impatient and fierce one around the stables. Passion Heart was the mares name, she may have not been that well known just two years ago, nothing but a maiden in her two year old season with endless out of money finishes. Passion Heart didn't start her career off in the best place, her two year old season she failed to win a race and placed out of the money five times in her seven starts. Her three year old season was an improvement, with a win, a place, and two shows in her seven starts. The coal black mare has started to pick up the pace a little as she has aged more, in her six starts, she has placed out of the money once and won three times. The mare was turning around and it didn’t go unnoticed.
The grey was recognizable, she was obsessive and energetic. If no one else could recognize any of the other three, they would for sure recognize the grey filly. Daddy’s Overdraft was slowly making noise in the world of horse racing, she ran down the stretch at Green Horse Fields to pull of a third place finish in the Preakness Champion Stakes as a longer shot. In her most recent race, she pulled off a second place finish against her older stablemate Immortal Flight.
The quartet continued down the turf track The Wire, with Ally throwing temper tantrums, and Cobweb bouncing all over the track.
“Control your animal Alex!” Andrew joked as Cobweb continued to bounce around, doing a half canter, half trot.
“I suggest you control yours!” Alex shot back at Andrew as Ally offered a small buck.
Jessie and Hadley calmly trotted Rose and Nico side by side at the head of the group, both of the horses perfectly content at their current state.
